With the sustained and rapid economic and social development in our country, the number of motor vehicles has maintained a rapid growth. As of the end of June, the number of motor vehicles in the country reached 304 million, an increase of 9.38 million or 3.18% from the end of last year. In the first half of 2017, the number of newly registered motor vehicles reached 15.94 million, slightly higher than the same period of previous year.

 

Vehicle ownership totaled 205 million units and 23 cities held more than 2 million vehicles. As of the end of June, the number of motor vehicles in the country reached 205 million. In the first half of 2017, the number of newly registered vehicles reached 13.22 million vehicles, basically unchanged from the same period of last year. As of the end of June, the number of motor vehicle drivers nationwide reached 371 million, an increase of 13.81 million or 4.22% from the end of last year, of which 338 million were motorcyclists, accounting for 88.31% of the total number of motorists.
