Clean the brake drum, brake shoes and all parts on the brake floor. The friction plates on the brake shoes should not be cleaned with oil. The surface of the friction plates can be sanded with fine sandpaper and then cleaned with a brush or high-pressure air.
Check the friction surface inside the brake drum. If the surface has ablation, cracks, grooves, etc., repair or replace the brake drum. Check the brake shoe friction plate. The distance between the rivet and the outer surface of the friction plate should be no less than 2mm. Otherwise, the friction plate should be replaced. If the surface of the friction lining is severely ablated, there are many cracks, etc., it should be replaced. When the clearance between the support hole of the brake shoe and the support pin is too large, repair work should be carried out to ensure that the clearance is not greater than the use limit; check the hub bearing, If the bearing is damaged, the bearing should be replaced.
For the drum brake of the hydraulic brake system, at this time, check whether the brake cylinder leaks oil. If there is oil leakage, the brake cylinder should normally be replaced.
The assembly is carried out in the reverse order of the decomposition, and the lubrication of the bearing, the support pin, the brake shoe and the cam or the brake plunger of the brake cylinder are paid attention to during the loading process. After installing the wheel, the bearing tension of the wheel hub should be adjusted by the bearing lock nut. The standard is that the axial push-pull wheel has no gap feeling. When the wheel is turned by hand, the rotation is flexible, and there is no jam or abnormal noise.
